Alright so today after our Internet went out (Comcast’s fault not mine this time! w00t!) and a quick power cycle after I got home from another shitty day at work and I have to give in. I just really miss these pc’s!
Sure, I know I CAN if I absolutely had to go fully mobile, but the power and mostly screen real estate I just miss too damn much. That added with the downtime, the fact that I’ve already leveled up my Call of Duty in multi-player a few times since just the start of October and my technolust, I just have to call it quits on the fully mobile thing.
It’s been fun, informative, I’ve found several good apps that have held up great, and I have a new respect for those that create finger friendly apps such as i-contact, i-dialer, point-ui, etc. It’s made this whole experiment a much more manageable endeavor.
What I’ve also learned, is that I got really tired of having to pull out the stylus just to do simple things like, Oh I don’t know, say lock the damn screen! Sure I can setup a key for that but I actually do like the key’s assigned as they are and dont want to disable one of the features just so I can lock the screen.
Things like S2U2 work half the time, and I just find the default screen lock to be easy, once you get it locked that is.
So I have failed you all. It’s been fun and at times frustrating, but I have to say I love where the smart phone market is going, and am VERY anxious to check out Google’s Android. but I think a nice ultraportable netbook might just be the next in the gadget department. 2 Phones and a pager are enough connectivity for now. Bigger screens is what I’m after next
And, it just might be powerful enough for me to start my streaming broadcast again.. This time from the road at all times!
Stay Tuned!
